New rig for auger casting

The smaller drill rig was having trouble meeting the demands of the auger casting pile system. Snoqualmie\'s Imhoff Crane brought their 65 ton American crane down to manipulate a much larger auger drilling mechanism. Production increased significantly and on the best day more than 20 piles were cast.

Imhoff is a frequent visitor to the Northwest Railway Museum. They are locally-owned and are based just a few miles from the Depot. This 65 ton crane has been involved in many projects at the Museum including construction of bridge 31.3 at Snoqualmie Falls and delivery of the Chapel Car Messenger of Peace.
