Golden Spike National Monument

Updated 3/20/97

About an hours drive northwest of Ogden Utah is Golden Spike National Monument. If your map of Utah shows the town of Thiokol, you've found it. The two locomotives pictured here, #119 and "Jupiter", are both reproductions built for the National Park Service for the centennial of the completion of the transcontinental railroad.

This last picture was taken in July 1996, a year after the three previous pictures. The pilot which had been damaged a year earlier in a shop accident has been restored to 119.
